The Friends meeting was cancelled. They will be conducting some work via email over the next month or so.

Hentz has asked Tom Kaminski of Kaminski Tax Services to assist with the filing of non-profit status.

Pandemic Planning for Hamburg Township Library
Level 1: Normal Operations

Make no changes to current operations and procedures.

Level 2: Enhanced Sanitation
  • Additional hand sanitizer, soap, and facial tissues throughout building
  • Wipe high contact items (doorknobs, phones, keyboards, bathroom fixtures, front desk) at midday and end of day
  • Wipe computer stations after sick patron use
  • Weekly deep clean of children's toys, puzzles, etc.
  • Stop serving food at programs unless individually packaged
Level 3: Rigorous Sanitation

In addition to Level 2:

  • Wipe all horizontal surfaces and high contact items throughout the day
  • Spray soft furnishings with disinfectant daily
  • Encourage flu shots for all staff
  • Disinfect returned materials before reshelving
  • Hourly hand sanitizing for staff, latex gloves available
  • Remove all toys and manipulatives from children's area
  • Stop serving food and drink at programs
Level 4: Restrict Activities

In addition to Levels 2 and 3:

  • Remove seating options, discontinue computer & printer use
  • Allow patrons no more than 10 minutes in building
  • Cancel passive programs to reduce contact infection
  • Cancel all library programs and meeting room use
Level 5: Building Closure
  • Reduce hours or close building if staffing falls to less than 3 people per shift
  • Close library if required by State Health Department or other health authority
  • As per Emergency Closing Pay policy, staff will receive regular pay
Staff Illnesses
  • Staff should stay home at earliest signs of infection/fever or if family member is infected
  • Remain home until infectious period has passed, following CDC guidelines
  • Staff who must self-quarantine or be hospitalized will continue to be paid during this time

Solar Panel Research

Hentz will research feasibility of solar panels for the library

The approved meeting room policy was handed out

Summer Reading Program

Theme is pets: "Sit, Stay, Read"
