Summer Reading Program Success

198 children signed up on Friday, with about 300 people attending the party. Youth and adult programs now in full swing!

1) Library Millage Update

Speaking Opportunities:

  • Presented to four home associations
  • Parents at Pinckney Schools' summer reading camp (~75 people at two camps)
  • M. Evergreen has talked with one association

Friends Support:

  • Placing poster size election signs at local businesses
  • Finding residential locations for large sandwich board signs (used for art fair)
Community Forums - Millage Q&A

Three Community Forums advertised at Library:

  • First Forum: Michaelene & Holly present, but no one showed up
  • 7/12/22: Bridgette Rosek will attend with Holly
  • 7/25/22: Mary Evergreen will attend with Holly
2) SRP Update (including adult summer reading)
Enrollment Success

About 300 have signed up for the reading program and events have been well attended

Michigan food theme with special HOPE grant food kits

Lynn was able to put together 4 different food kits in conjunction with programs:

  • Sanders Hot Fudge sauce kit - Michigan Eats program
  • Jiffy pie crust kit - Darci Hannah's blueberry mystery book talk

  • McClure's bloody Mary mix kit

Hiring new Library Page to replace Elsa prior to her departure for college at the end of the summer.
